M31 - The Andromeda Galaxy732 viewsA wide-field view of the Andromeda Galaxy, 2.5 million light years away and 152,000 light years in diameter. Satellite galaxies M32 (above right of center, on rim of M31) and M110 (bottom center) also appear in the frame. Tetrapylon731 viewsThis is the first structure you would normally see upon entry to the site. For us it was the last, since we walked the site in reverse. The Tetrapylon consisted of four rows of four columns (tetra = four and pylon = gateway in Greek). Built in the second century AD, It was extensively repaired and re-erected in 1990.
