Chuck Mattox on the MMU731 viewsThe Manned Maneuvering Unit (MMU) is another contraption the purpose of which I'm totally ignorant, and Chuck looks a bit bemused by it too.

In Turkish fields the poppies grow...731 viewsAlthough it was too early in the season (late March) for the trees to have leaves, the flowers were out in force!

The Theater at Aspendos731 viewsA view of the exterior across the parking lot.

The Hellenistic Gate731 viewsAfter entering through the Roman Gate, one comes to the Hellenistic gate, which dates back to the 3rd century BC. I don't know why the Romans thought the city needed another gate, especially because the Hellenistic Gate is the most imposing building of the city and was a formidable bulwark, far better suited to protect the city with its twin towers and its horseshoe-shaped courtyard at the back. The towers had three floors and were crowned by a conical roof.

Council Chamber Door731 viewsThe latticed grilles satisfied a law requiring that Council sessions be open to the public.

Gate of the Sultan731 viewsApproaching the Saltanat Kapısı (Sultan's Gate) at Dolmabahçe Palace.

Master Shower731 viewsShower in the Master Bathroom of the Crestmont house

Assay Office Accoutrements731 viewsThis appears to represent an office where mining claims were evaluated and their worth assessed, so that the office owner could falsify their value and buy them up for a song and a dance.

The Dizzying Heights731 viewsQuestion now is, how do we get him to come back down? Even if he wants to, will he be able? I don't think the FIre Department will come to his rescue...

The Commies are Coming731 viewsA red-shirted terrorist poses in front of a statue of the head revolutionary.
